Many of you will remember Jim Rix, an avid paddler with our club for many years. Sadly, Jim passed away July 28, 2024. I am sure many of you will remember his love of paddling, the kayak he made himself and the many stories of his paddling adventures. He and I paddled many times, just the two of us, and his many tales and lots of laughter impressed me as a life well lived. He has been missed on the water these past two years as his health deteriorated. I’ll always remember him, just as he appears in this photo, happy to be on the water!  A private funeral was Jim’s request. I have sent condolences to his family on behalf of the Peninsula Paddlers and his obituary is included here.
